Allyson is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner and a Licensed Massage Therapist. She also holds a BS in Psychology with emphasis in chemistry and physics and is a licensed Realtor in TN and GA. |
Personal Interests
With a long standing interest in neuroscience and the psychophysiology of self awareness, Allyson enjoys studying human nature and how our thoughts, beliefs, actions and movement can shape who we are. Through the Feldenkrais Method she likes sharing and developing ideas of creative and authentic movement with others.
With experience teaching Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement to college students, the general public, performing artists and seniors throughout the Chattanooga area, she has had many opportunities to share and learn in classes of varied interests. She has also accepted invitations to teach at national and international conferences.
Allyson enjoys Chattanooga for it's abundant outdoor activities and rich music scene. She and her family hike, have fun playing with their Whippets (dogs) and participate in folk, bluegrass, jazz, classical and liturgical music.
Educational Points
Beyond her 1200+ hours in Feldenkrais training, continuing education and mentoring to earn and maintain her Feldenkrais Certification, Allyson works in compliance with TN laws and has completed 600 massage school hours studying kinesiology, anatomy & physiology, pathology, nutrition, law and ethics. She has also completed over 100 hours of continuing education for the state in areas of law, ethics, CPR for medical professionals & working with specialized populations. Along with her Feldenkrais Certification, she maintains a license with the state of TN as an LMT (#10829).
